Kia ora tatou
There have been significant changes to government announcements during the weekend. Please read the bulletin carefully and do as you are asked. The school will be communicating on school apps and please keep following the alerts.
With the announcement that New Zealand has moved to Alert Level 2 – Reduce Contact for COVID-19, people over 70 years of age and those with compromised immunity and certain existing medical conditions, are asked to remain at home as much as they can from now on and avoid any non-essential travel.
Staff, children and young people in schools and early learning services are therefore asked to follow this advice. ALL staff and children with high health needs including those who are sick MUST stay home.
While the majority of people who are confirmed with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms, some individuals are at risk of more severe symptoms.
Older people, particularly those with pre-existing health problems are more likely to get severe illness and are therefore considered at risk. High-risk individuals also include people with underlying medical conditions, such as:
- a compromised immune system
- liver disease
- kidney disease
- heart disease
- diabetes mellitus
We would very much appreciate ALL parents leaving their children at the classroom door rather than entering the classrooms, for the safety of our children. Please note that our children will now be eating their lunches inside to support student wellbeing.

Supporting learning at home
School will remain open until we are asked to close. Our teachers are delivering the learning at school and home learning is being planned which will be available on the school web soon. Please access the school web www.epsomnormalprimary.school.nz/learning-link for learning at home. We are currently working on this link.
We sincerely value our community support during these trying times.
Please contact the school office if you have any further requests.
