Epsom Normal Primary School has a long and proud past of serving the Epsom community and delivering inspirational learning for all of our learners. Furthermore it is a leader in primary education and schooling at a national and international level. I believe this is due to the strong focus we place on our four learning priorities of inclusiveness, strength focussed, creative and critical teaching and learning.

My vision for ENPS is to have all the students leave our school with a love for learning and a strong sense of curiosity. I want them to be caring, creative citizens who are resilient and resourceful. It is important to me that all our students have an awareness of social justice issues, and are able to act on these. To support our students, it is my intention that all teachers will be innovative, optimistic and reflective practitioners who base their teaching and learning programmes on current research and pedagogy.

We acknowledge the bicultural foundations of New Zealand and reflect the Treaty of Waitangi principles of participation, protection and partnership. All students at ENPS have the opportunity to acquire knowledge of Māori language and culture.

We are proud to have students from many different nationalities, which reflects the rich cultural diversity of Auckland. As a school we value and recognise each other’s cultural heritage and work hard to develop a sense of belonging for all students. Our school’s learning theme of “Together we are strong” exemplifies our commitment to ensuring every student and family feels valued and included. Our school’s vision and values underpin our school culture and all our learning and teaching programmes.
