2011 Learning Theme: Together We Are Strong
Ehara toku i te toa takitahi
Engari toku toa i te toa takitini
My strength comes not from myself alone,
But from the strength of all the people
Dear Parents
What an amazing celebration the Garden Party was last week. It was wonderful to see the many talents of our students shining through on the day. All performances were inspirational. Also the students had participated in getting our gardens ready for the event and they did look beautiful on the day. We will all have fond memories of the 125th Anniversary celebration. Thank you to all the parents and extended family who attended the event. I know the students thoroughly enjoyed the occasion.
It was wonderful to have the Mayor of Auckland, Len Brown in attendance. He thoroughly enjoyed his time here with us and we were certainly delighted to have him join in our celebrations.

Thank you to out-going Board Members
We would like to thank Michael Worth for his outstanding contribution as Chairman of the Board and for his support and leadership in this role. Thanks also to Nancy Tsen and Richard Adams for all their hard work and support of the school in their role as BOT members.
New Board of Trustee Members
We would like to welcome Adam Taylor and Sue Normanton onto our Board of Trustees. We welcome back our existing Board Members and thank them for their continuing work and support of our school.
Staff Up-date
Thank you to Gina Potter, Anna Hedstrom, Hannah Lucas and Gail Duffy who have taken our four new entrant classes this year. They have been experienced teachers who have supported students with their transition into school and provided them with interesting and rich learning experiences. We wish these teachers all the best with their future teaching careers.
Innes Jephson next year is focusing on a Year 6 Team Leader role and literacy leadership in the school. On behalf of the staff I would like to thank Innes for the tireless work he undertook in his role of AP. He was a valued member of the Senior Leadership Team. As Innes is changing roles next year, Rachel O’Shea is now our new Assistant Principal. It is wonderful to have Rachel in this role, as she brings a wealth of experience to the AP’s position.
On behalf of students and staff, a huge thank you to all of you who have supported and helped the school in many ways over this last year. We appreciate your kindness. Wishing you a very happy and peaceful Christmas.
Warmest regards
Jane Cavanagh-Eyre
Principal
Please note that the school closes for Christmas break on Friday 16 December at 1pm
