‘Am I making positive connections in the world?’ is the 2010 Learning Theme
Kia Ora Tatou, Greetings to all
Dear Parents
A visit from Auckland University Staff
Graham Aitken, Dean of Education, Auckland University and Libby Limbrick, Head of Languages, Auckland University visited the school to discuss ENPS’ vision and direction. High quality writing examples of students’ writing were presented to Libby for lecturing staff to utilize in lecture to student teachers and Graham and Libby also visited classrooms. Both were highly supportive of the school’s direction and were overwhelmed with the high quality visual displays of student learning. Graham spoke to the staff about Geography to support teachers’ current topic plans for Term 3.
Topic Planning for Term 3 “I am a Geographer”
Teachers are currently meeting in sectors to plan their geography topics for Term 3. A group of students from the Senior School attended the senior planning meeting and offered very good suggestions to guide our planning foci.
Education Review Office Visit
Last week the Education Review Office reviewed the school. They were welcomed into our school by our very strong sounding Kapa Haka group. It was wonderful to see a group of parents at the Powhiri to also welcome the reviewers. The board and senior staff will be meeting with the review team later in the week to discuss their findings. The report will take approximately six weeks to publish and we will send out the community page via the school newsletter.
Holiday Time
Thank you for your support this term with your child/children’s learning and have a wonderful time with your children during the holidays.
Warmest regards
Jane Cavanagh-Eyre
