Dear Parents
I have had the pleasure of spending time in classrooms over the last two weeks, seeing learning in action. The children were very keen to share their ideas and thoughts about their learning. Current displays of children’s art, writing and topic work are creatively displayed.
Meet the Teacher Evening and School Picnic
Thank-you to the parents who attended the parent/teacher session. This is a valuable time to hear about the topics of learning experiences that will be covered and the learning expectations we have for your children. Parent/teacher partnership is vital in supporting your child with their continued learning development.
Following the teachers’ presentations, it was wonderful to see the large number of families who were able to join us for the annual picnic. Thank-you to the Board of Trustees, PTA and other parent volunteers who helped fundraise for the school at this event. The sushi stall was as popular as always and the sausage sizzle sold out completely. The candy floss was a hit with the children, with a constant queue of ready buyers. We hope you and your children enjoyed the evening and were able to take further opportunity to speak to the teachers and meet new parents.
Here is Naomi Fong’s writing to brighten up your day….
GIRAFFES
How delightful it is to see giraffes eating tender,
juicy leaves,
His quick head darts side to side as he snatches
leaves from trees,
He has a wondrous spotted suit that is yellow and black,
On his neck, on his legs and definitely on his back,
Every time you see this creature at the zoo,
Do you wonder what he’s thinking when he’s looking
back at you?
