Dear Parents/ Caregivers
This term we have a number of sporting and physical activities to start the year off.
Swimming
As part of our Water Safety/Aquatics Unit we will be swimming in the school pool twice weekly. Please ensure your child has their togs on the correct days including a cap, towel and goggles. This programme is designed to increase confidence in water and provide opportunities for physical activity. If your child is not able to swim due to illness, please provide a note to the classroom teacher. We require extra assistance with supervision of children during this time so if you can help please indicate on the form below. Swimming caps are mandatory and can be purchased through the ENPS Uniform Shop.
Swimming times are as follows:
Room 1 and 2 Tuesday 9:40am Wednesday 10:20am
Room 3 and 6 Wednesday 8:55am Friday 9:40am
Room 4 and 5 Wednesday 9:40am Friday 10:20am
Room 9 and 10 Tuesday 8:55 am Thursday 9:40am
Tuesday Sport
This year we are lucky enough to have additional coaching starting towards the end of Term 1 with student teachers from the Faculty of Education’s Four Year Bachelor of Physical Education Course. They will enable us to have smaller groups and more one on one coaching.
During Tuesday afternoon we will be leaving the school grounds to go to nearby parks and also for exchanges and field days throughout the year. For the first few weeks we require parent support until the Student Teachers begin. Please let us know on the permission form below. Summer Field Day is on Tuesday 27 March and will include Badminton, Tennis, Padder Tennis, Touch Rugby, Mod Softball and Cricket.
Sports T-Shirt
It is compulsory for all Year 5 and 6 students to wear the Epsom Normal Sports T-shirt. All children will need their T-shirt by Tuesday 14 February for afternoon Sports. You can purchase the T-shirt from the uniform shop.
