On Friday, 30 April, Epsom Normal Primary School’s wonderful sustainability group, the Green Kiwis, held a cake stall to raise funds. The funds are to pay for a fruit orchard that is going to be established at our school.
The cake stall was a fantastic success! It was open at lunchtime, outside the Hall for Years 4 to 6 children. We raised $335.10!
There were yummy cakes galore! Everyone had a real feast. We want to say a big thank you to all the children who bought cakes and also, for the parents who helped bake the cakes.

Auckland City Council are also planting fruit trees all around Auckland at parks. They are going to give us some fruit trees for our orchard! We are going to plant fruit trees at the end of this term, on one of the Development of Talent days. We are planning on planting feijoas, guavas, apples, mandarins, oranges, lemons and perhaps an avocado tree.
