The school has run several very successful fundraisers so far this year. The History-athon in Term 2 raised a whopping $8,500 to go towards sunshades on the senior field behind Rooms 9 and 10. We have now raised enough ($12,000) for these to be erected and they will be up and ready for the summer term.
Last term the Student Voice asked the PTA for soccer nets ($440) so they could use them at morning tea and lunch breaks. They are now in regular use on the senior field.
The Mufti week and the sausage sizzle held at the end of Term 2 raised $2,500, some of which went towards buying a new barbecue for the school.
The sale of the Entertainment books also raised an impressive $2,000. This money paid for the annual Gridclub Online subscription which is used widely by the students at school and at home. Check it out below…

At the meeting held on Monday 16th August, it was agreed that the PTA would buy five new iPads for the school totalling $4,500. Trials to date have proved to be very successful and popular with the students. Over the next few terms we may get some more so that they will be more accessible to the students.
The PTA also agreed to buy sand trays for use in the junior school and these will be available in these classrooms soon.
A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed in any way, shape or form to the fundraising.
The next meeting will be held on 17th September in the staffroom at 9am. Come along and meet the committee and have a chat about what we do. If you can, stay for the meeting and get involved – this is a way that you can help your children receive the extras that make ENPS such a successful school.

We have had a very successful year with our community using the Gridclub via our school website. We were grateful to have received a donation from our PTA. Senior Leadership and our ICT team decided to put this donation towards a membership for every student and teacher in the school. We thank our PTA for their generosity.
This year Gridclub will again be available to our community. Gridclub is a British based site that includes every curriculum area with a wide variety of activities. These activities also have a wide variety of levels that will appeal to every child in the school. Some of the activities are strongly British based (money, imperial measurement, history) but the benefits far out-weigh the negatives.
IMPORTANT ON-GOING FUNDRAISER! !
At last - a fundraiser that won’t rot your teeth! And as a bonus, you won’t be searching through the lost property pile at the end of each term!!
Stuck on You is a fantastic company producing top quality name labels, stickers, bag tags and more. Waterproof, UV-resistant, dishwasher and microwave proof vinyl stickers for lunch boxes, drink bottles, shoes, and other belongings! Clothing labels are made to stay put and survive all washing maching and dryer wear and tear.
Every order you make through Stuck on You means a donation to our school. The more you order, the more the school receives.
Simply go to the Stuck on You website http://www.stuckonyou.biz/newzealand <http://www.stuckonyou.biz/newzealand> - place your order and ensure you enter Epsom Normal Primary School in the space on the order form for School/Camp Fundraiser Name. You will receive your order direct and Epsom Normal Primary School will receive our donation.
Alternatively, colour fliers are available from the school office, although the full range is only available via their website.
Thank you for supporting Epsom Normal Primary School. We really value your help in providing fantastic resources for our students.
This year’s Mad Scientist disco was a fun-filled night for everyone with nearly half of the school turning out for the occasion. Everyone, including teachers, put in a huge effort in dressing up to the theme of the night. We were able to raise $880 from the ticket sales which will go towards science equipment (so very apt!).
Thank you to the Principal, Deputy Principals and teachers who attended and made it all the more memorable for the children. Also, thanks to the assistance from all of the parent volunteers who helped the disco to run very smoothly.
We would especially like to thank the following parents who donated prizes, drinks and lollies. They are:
Rebecca Lal
Wendy Goh
Karen Humberstone – Book Barn
Peter Lamb - Frucor
And also to a parent who showed up on the night with boxes of wafer biscuits (sorry we didn’t catch your name).
Last but not least. Thank you to Kristin Wood and the office staff, Kate Payne, John Jacka, Tai and Leanne. The PTA and disco committee could not have done it without assistance from you all.

CONGRATULATIONS to the whole school community – the history-athon has raised $8,448.80. This is a phenomenal amount. This means the PTA have now completed fundraising for the Shade Cloth for the Senior Playground which is approximately $20,000. This will be erected in the next few months (prior to summer). We will also have money available to pay for science and technology equipment.
The class which raised the most money was ROOM 8 – a whopping $603.70 – they will be having a pizza lunch as their prize.
The individuals who raised the most money in each year group and will be getting a $30 Whitcoulls voucher each are:
Year 1 – Sophia, Room 23
Year 2 – Amanda, Room 27
Year 3 – Aryan, Room 11
Year 4 – Nicholas, Room 8
Year 5 – Arthur, Room 5
Year 6 – Lofa, Room 10
Again, we would like to thank the whole school community for this wonderful effort. We truly appreciate your support.
