The school has run several very successful fundraisers so far this year. The History-athon in Term 2 raised a whopping $8,500 to go towards sunshades on the senior field behind Rooms 9 and 10. We have now raised enough ($12,000) for these to be erected and they will be up and ready for the summer term.
Last term the Student Voice asked the PTA for soccer nets ($440) so they could use them at morning tea and lunch breaks. They are now in regular use on the senior field.
The Mufti week and the sausage sizzle held at the end of Term 2 raised $2,500, some of which went towards buying a new barbecue for the school.
The sale of the Entertainment books also raised an impressive $2,000. This money paid for the annual Gridclub Online subscription which is used widely by the students at school and at home. Check it out below…

At the meeting held on Monday 16th August, it was agreed that the PTA would buy five new iPads for the school totalling $4,500. Trials to date have proved to be very successful and popular with the students. Over the next few terms we may get some more so that they will be more accessible to the students.
The PTA also agreed to buy sand trays for use in the junior school and these will be available in these classrooms soon.
A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed in any way, shape or form to the fundraising.
The next meeting will be held on 17th September in the staffroom at 9am. Come along and meet the committee and have a chat about what we do. If you can, stay for the meeting and get involved – this is a way that you can help your children receive the extras that make ENPS such a successful school.

TOGETHER WE CAN DO IT!!!
Our school is again taking part in the “Auckland City Council’s Chaos at the School Gate” programme. This is one way of working together to make our school a safe place for students and making sure that the local roads outside our school are safe for the wider community. We know you will want to help us in this.
Being in the ACC’s programme means that parking wardens will be assisting us by visiting our school regularly (from Week 2 this term) to monitor the drop off zone and parking around the school. They will be issuing infringement notices where appropriate. We as a school agree to keep our community informed about safe practices by communicating with school families about how they can help.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
You can help us keep the school environment safe by:
- taking care to observe parking signage. Please note that the ‘2 minute zone’ requires the driver to remain in the car.
- making sure that when pulling into the drop off zone you move to the end rather than stop at the top (this allows others to pull in safely behind you).
- moving into the traffic carefully and going around the block rather than doing a ‘u turn’ to travel south.
- ensuring you model safe road crossing by using the zebra crossing if parking opposite the school.
- making sure that if collecting children you do not double park and ask students to walk between cars to get into your car.
- parking outside the yellow lines bordering the crossing so that sight lines are clear for our crossing patrols.
- parking a little further away from school and walking the extra distance to remove traffic from our gates.
- dropping children in safe places and ensure they do not alight from cars parked in traffic queues outside the school.
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
